Attract customers like a magnet - foils, bases, mats, magnetic papers for various applications.

Lately, we have noticed increased interest among our customers in magnetic materials for printing. Unfortunately, a common issue is a lack of knowledge about the types of magnetic foil and how to work with it, as well as not knowing how widely it can be used and how to combine it with other existing media. A brief overview of their properties and potential applications.

It often happens that customers are hesitant about printing on magnetic substrates, but it is an excellent solution for those working with UV printers or, for example, eco-solvent printers like the EPSON S series (with an aluminum heated bed, allowing printing on magnetic roll media). Let's start with the types of magnetic substrates for printing.

Magnetic Printing Foils Magnetic printing foils are made of PET or PVC plastic, combined with a highly magnetic coating suitable for UV, resin, latex, and eco-solvent (EPSON) printing. They are easy to install and remove and leave no traces.

Ferromagnetic Foils and Underlays Ferromagnetic foils, also known as "steel paper," combine a layer of white PP for printing with iron filings, making them attract to all magnetic surfaces. Ferromagnetic underlays also contain iron filings but are thicker and additionally equipped with glue. They serve as a base for magnets; for example, after attaching a ferro underlay to the wall, magnetic foils and bases can be attached to it.

Magnetic Bases Magnetic bases are thick foils mostly made of synthetic rubber and powder with ferromagnetic properties. They are extremely easy to process. Depending on the thickness of the material, they can be cut with a guillotine, scissors, or a cutting plotter without forgetting about a cutting plotter. They can also be used as an interchangeable carrier for prints on monomeric foil.

Applications of Magnetic Substrate Foils for Printing:

- Decoration Production: Magnetic foils allow creative use of metal surfaces for creating decorations, magnetic boards, calendars, or game boards (including coverings/masks on radiators).

- Educational Materials: Magnets can be used for learning and play in schools, kindergartens, and other educational centers. Magnetic letters, numbers, or shapes can be placed on them, facilitating learning and cognition.

- Planners and Magnetic Boards Production: Magnetic foils can be used for task planning with the possibility of personalization for a specific company or team. Magnetic labels, to-do lists, or other important information can be placed on them.

- Identification and Magnetic Advertising Materials Production: Temporary advertising on vehicles or other metal surfaces. They are easy to apply and remove, making them a practical marketing tool.

It is advisable to check if the supplier of these printing substrates has products safe for the user - for example, the manufacturer's certificate for a positive test according to the EN 71-3 standard for the absence of toxic substances in the product - as in the case of MagDecor.
