EAC – The European Voice of the Promotional Products Industry. Shared Challenges, Joint Action

The promotional products industry extends far beyond national borders. Products reach international markets, companies operate within global supply chains, and changes in European legislation affect businesses across the European Union. This is why cross-border cooperation is becoming increasingly important. One of the organisations helping to strengthen this cooperation is EAC – European Associations Cooperation.

Strong National Associations, One European Voice

The European promotional products industry is built on national associations. Each has its own experience, understands the specific characteristics of its market and recognises the needs of local businesses. This diversity is one of the industry's strengths, but it becomes even more valuable when individual organisations work together.

EAC was not established to replace national associations. Its purpose is to bring together their expertise, facilitate knowledge sharing and create a common platform for cooperation at the European level.

Although national markets differ, many of the challenges facing businesses are similar. Some of these require a common position and coordinated action.

Challenges That Cross Borders

European regulations, sustainability, digitalisation, product information and international supply chains are just some of the areas increasingly shaping the way the promotional products industry operates.

For businesses, this means keeping track of regulatory changes, adapting processes and seeking solutions that work in an evolving market environment. In this context, cooperation between associations takes on practical significance. It enables them to share experience, coordinate their efforts and develop common positions wherever a European perspective can deliver tangible benefits.

The idea is simple: instead of tackling similar challenges separately, the industry can draw on its collective knowledge and work together.

From Discussions to Concrete Action

Following its Annual General Meeting in La Hulpe and a board meeting held during The SupplierDays in Houten, EAC is moving into a more operational phase of its activities.

A key part of this process will be the establishment of European task forces focusing on specific areas of importance to the industry. These include:

  • Legal Affairs and Lobbying – cooperation on regulatory matters and representing the industry's interests.
  • Education – sharing knowledge and supporting the development of professional skills.
  • Digitalisation – addressing topics related to the industry's digital transformation.
  • Marketing – fostering cooperation and developing a shared marketing perspective.
  • Sustainability – exchanging experience and insights on responsible development.
  • International Relations – strengthening cooperation and building connections across Europe.

This is a step towards a model in which cooperation goes beyond meetings and the exchange of opinions, leading to joint initiatives and more coordinated action.

Why Does This Matter to the Entire Industry?

A common European voice can help the industry respond more effectively to change, make better use of experience from individual markets and develop positions on issues that affect businesses across multiple countries.

EAC's strength lies neither in making all markets the same nor in diminishing the role of national associations. It lies in something else: bringing their knowledge and experience together within a broader European perspective.

For the promotional products industry, this creates an opportunity to improve information sharing, coordinate activities more effectively and represent common interests with greater impact. After all, a strong European industry starts with strong national associations that know how to work together.

EAC has set itself a clear goal: to turn cooperation into concrete action, strengthen knowledge sharing and represent the promotional products industry with a strong, united European voice.

We are the European voice of our industry.
